Day 1 Guatemala / Antigua - Quiriguá - Rio Dulce
Departure from Guatemala City or Antigua Guatemala (5:00 am) to Quiriguá, is in the valley of the Motagua River. Founded in 250-550 AD by people who came from the Tikal area, being today the most impressive archaeological site of the Maya of the Early Classic Period. UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site in 1979. It has the highest stela in the Mayan World. After this visit we continue the trip to Rio Dulce.
Day 2 Rio Dulce – Short boat tour / Castillo San Felipe - Guatemala
Today visit to Castle San Felipe, short boat tour on the river. Afternoon return Guatemala or Antigua.Note: You can visit Livingston boat tour add 1 day for better enjoy your visit.

Río Dulce connects Lake Izabal with the Caribbean Sea making it an important biological corridor of more than 30 miles, for species like the manatee (Trichechus manatus).
Castillo de San Felipe
The fortress and castle of San Felipe de Lara, was built in 1652 to keep pirates from looting the villages and commercial caravans of Izabal, Guatemala.
