El Mirador Del Mundo Maya is located in the Northern region of Petén near the Mexican boarder. There is no road available toward this site, but you can get there from the Carmelita community located at 60 Km to the North of Flores or by Uaxactun. These places are the departing point to begin the emotional expedition towards the Mayan cities of El Mirador and Nakbe. This tour can be made on foot or horseback riding; during which you will delight yourself with the uncountable Archeological and Natural wanders of this region.

El Mirador is well known for the fact that is one of the best organized Mayan cities and that many archeologists assure that this was the first great Mayan City between 150 BC to 150 AC. One of the principal eye-catching structures that this site offers is the pyramid complex where the Templo Del Tigre lies, which happens to be the biggest structure in the Mayan world (18 stories high) with a base of the size of three football fields. Moving 13 Km forward through an elevated path south of El Mirador lays the archeological site Nakbe.

In the investigation held by the archeologists on the limestone quarry of this place was discovered that the Mayas extracted stones for the construction of the monumental structure of very extraordinary city that jealously keeps the Petén jungle and the ancient inhabitants’ secrets.
